Your dog gets very excited when you get home
If you get home and your dog gets so hyper, they cannot hold themselves down, which is actually normal. What would not be normal is if you got home and your dog hides from you.
That would mean that they feel intimidated in your presence. So next time you get home and your dog gets the zoomies, you should be happy they love you so much.
They like to follow you around the house
Whenever a dog follows a pet owner around the home, it can make them worry. You might wonder if there is something wrong with them.
The truth of the matter is far simpler. Chances are that your dog just loves being around you. The other possibility is that they are trying to beg for food that you are eating.
Sometimes they will run around for no reason
Dogs will get hyper from time to time. When this happens, they may start to sprint in circles or run back and forth.
People might think that the dog is losing their minds. Really they are just having a good time. This is one of the many ways that a dog can play even when they are by themselves.
They bark whenever people drive by
It can be annoying if your dog is barking it every time someone walks by your house. This is not a crazy behavior, though. They are trying to alert you that there is a potential intruder.
Instead of seeing it as an annoyance, try to reframe it from a different perspective. Realize that your dog is doing their best to keep you and your family safe. If anything, it should make you feel more comfortable having them in your home.
They love to chase their tail
Tail chasing is another type of behavior that dogs do that appears pretty unfamiliar to people. You do not need to worry if you catch your dog chasing their tail.
It is more common whenever they are puppies. When they are puppies, they may not realize that detail belongs to themselves. When they are adults, if they do this, they are just having a good time.
Your dog likes to smell people’s groins
Sticking your face into the crotch of another person probably sounds like one of the craziest things you could do. However, to a dog, this is actually a normal way to greet another person.
This is similar to how they will put their nose up to the butt of another dog. They are merely trying to get familiar with your scent.
You can try to train this behavior out of them if it is annoying. However, you do not need to assume that your dog has lost its mind.
They like to eat grass
Dogs may start to grass for a few different reasons. None of those reasons is that they have lost their minds. If your dog is eating rest, then they are almost definitely totally normal. They could have some kind of stomachache as eating grass can help to soothe it.
If they have changed their food recently, it could be causing digestive problems for them. If you catch your dog eating grass, you do not need to punish them. You should keep an eye on them, though. That way, if there is a problem with their digestive tract, you will be able to tell.
If they go to the bathroom a lot or if there seems to be something wrong with their poop, they might need help. Most of the time, though, they will be totally okay.
If you are truly concerned about their health and you can try to take them to the vet. The vet will be able to give you a professional opinion on what is going on with your pup.
Sometimes they eat poop
Believe it or not, eating their own poop or even the poop of another dog is normal behavior. It may seem totally disgusting to you, but it does not indicate that there is anything wrong with your dog. The ancestors of dogs before they were domesticated lived as scavengers.
This meant that they would eat anything that they could find. They have such efficient digestive systems they are actually able to extract some nutrition from it. If it is becoming a chronic problem, you can talk to your vet about possible solutions.
They scoot their butts on the ground
Although if your dog is scooting there, but on the ground, it could indicate some health problems, it is normal behavior. If they are only scooting along the ground after using the bathroom, then it is probably nothing to worry about.
Especially if they are only scooting after they have a loose stool. However, if you notice that your dog is chronically scooting, it could indicate they have intestinal parasites. If you notice this kind of behavior, get them to the vet to have them checked out.
